The New York Youth Support Program aims to cultivate resilience, empower young people, and equip them with the tools necessary to enhance their academic performance and social skills. Our programs are specifically designed for vulnerable children and adolescents facing academic challenges, serious emotional disturbances, and developmental disabilities. Through our dedicated support, we aim to create a brighter future for these young individuals, helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential..
The New York Youth Support Program (NYYSP) follows a strength-based approach to support children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances and their families, helping them stay together in their homes and communities. Without our services, these children might face long-term care in psychiatric hospitals or legal issues leading to incarceration or probation. Our services are respite care, skill building, intensive in-home support, and family support. We collaborate with the ICC agency to meet our clients' clinical, educational, and social needs. We aim to expand our services to all five NYC boroughs, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. This mission supports our application for the HCBS Waiver Subcontractor qualification under the Social Security Act Section 1955 (c) Law.
It is recognized that children with mental illness or academic challenges need coordinated support services. Our program plays a vital role in the community by connecting these children with essential services, advocating for parents, and helping families navigate complex systems. We provide support in special education, social services, housing, mental health, crisis intervention, skill building, and tutoring in Math and English for those with language difficulties.
